Terms of Service
1. Who we are & acceptance
Welcome to TimeRing (the “App”). The App is operated by Qingdao Jimo Jiye Software Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By registering, signing in, or using any feature of the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
2. The service
TimeRing is a personal time-management tool combining schedules, tasks, notes, and anniversaries. It offers:
- Free tier — create, view, and edit schedules, anniversaries, notes, and tasks on your device.
- Free trial (7 days) — cloud sync and multi-device sharing.
- Subscription (monthly / yearly) — cloud sync, multi-device sharing, and local→cloud migration.
- One-time purchase (“buyout”) — permanent local use plus Apple iCloud sync (does not include cloud multi-device sharing).
We may add, change, or discontinue features. Material changes are announced via release notes or in-app notices.
3. Accounts
- Sign-in — the overseas edition signs you in with a one-time code sent to your email (no phone number). Use an email address you control and keep your codes private.
- Ownership — you hold the right to use your account. Do not sell, transfer, or lend it.
- Security — you are responsible for activity resulting from your failure to safeguard your account or email.
- Deletion — you can delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete account. We erase the account and associated server-side data immediately (residual backup copies within 30 days); data stored locally on your device is not removed automatically — uninstall the App to remove it.
4. Your content & conduct
- You own the schedules, tasks, notes, and anniversaries you create (“Your Content”).
- To provide cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate the service. We do not use Your Content for advertising, to train AI models, or sell it to any third party.
- You must not use the App to create or share content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or that infringes others’ rights. We may remove such content and suspend your access without prior notice.
5. Paid services
Purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Prices, taxes, and currency are those shown to you at the time of purchase in the relevant store for your region.
5.1 Subscriptions (auto-renewing)
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.
- Apple / Google charge your account within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- To stop renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends via iPhone Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions (iOS) or Google Play → Subscriptions (Android). Cancellation must be done by you in Apple’s / Google’s system — we cannot cancel on your behalf.
- Upgrades (monthly → yearly) take effect immediately with proration; downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
- After cancellation you keep access until the period ends, then the account becomes read-only.
5.2 One-time purchase (“buyout”)
- A one-time, non-renewing purchase granting permanent local use plus Apple iCloud sync.
- It does not include cloud multi-device sharing.
5.3 Refunds
- Refunds are handled entirely by Apple / Google, through their stores (e.g. Apple: Settings → your Apple ID → Purchase History → Report a Problem; Google Play: Order history → Report a problem). We do not process refunds.
- Once the store approves a refund, the corresponding entitlement ends when we are notified.
- This does not affect any statutory cancellation or refund rights you have under the consumer law of your country of residence, which apply in addition to the stores’ policies.
5.4 Price changes
- Price changes do not affect a subscription period already in progress. New prices apply from the next renewal and are announced in-app before renewal (and per store rules).
5.5 Free trial
- Each account gets the 7-day free trial once.
- During the trial you get full subscription features. If you neither subscribe nor buy out when it ends, the account becomes read-only (you can still view and export your data).
- The trial does not auto-convert to a paid subscription — there is nothing to cancel.
6. Devices
Subscribers and trial users may use the App on multiple devices signed into the same account; there is no hard device cap, but we may sign out the earliest device if we detect abuse (e.g. many devices in a short time). The one-time purchase is for a single device (plus other devices under the same Apple ID via iCloud sync).
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
- We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the service stable but are not liable for:
- interruptions due to force majeure (power / network failure, natural events, policy changes, etc.);
- sync failures or push delays caused by third parties (Apple, APNs, Google, FCM, cloud providers);
- data loss caused by your own actions, device faults, or network issues.
- The App is provided “as is” without warranties except those that cannot be excluded by law.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you actually paid us for the App in the past 12 months.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory statutory consumer guarantees in your country.
8. App store additional terms
These Terms are between you and us only — not with Apple or Google. To the extent the App is obtained through their stores, the following also apply:
8.1 Apple App Store
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App (including product-liability, legal / regulatory, or consumer-protection claims, and claims that the App infringes intellectual-property rights).
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
8.2 Google Play (Android edition, when available)
- On the Android edition, your use of the App via Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms (e.g. for business or legal changes). Revisions are announced via App Store / Google Play release notes and in-app notices; material changes to core rights (billing, data use, user rights) are shown in a prominent in-app dialog. Continuing to use the App means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept, stop using the App or delete your account.
10. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (mainland), where the operator is established. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, which continue to apply to you. Where the mandatory law of your country gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts, you may do so; otherwise disputes will be submitted to the competent courts at the operator’s place of business (Qingdao, Shandong, China). Please contact us first (§11) so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
